My favorite hobby - Amateur Radio! The first amateur radio QSO on the shortwave, I spent December 28, 1991 in the 160 meters! My first call sign RI8LBE. At that time I was in Uzbekistan city Kagan. I received call sign UK8LBE. Later moved to the Arctic Circle to the north of Russia to the settlement Alakurtti and received call sign UA1ZKJ. I passed the exam on the first category and received a call sign RA1ZM. In June 2010 passed the exam in Finland category of amateur radio extra class and received the call sign OH9FTW, and certificate HAREC.

SOTA

A beautiful summer Sunday +23C! My wife Lyudmila and I again went closer to the mountain to climb the mountain again and activate it using the SOTA amateur radio program!

And again had to make my way through the taiga, trees and thickets! Reindeer greeted us in the forest again! At the foot of the mountain there is a large lake Raanujärvi! A very beautiful place! We did a little fishing and caught some fish that we cooked for dinner! This time I worked on the band of 14 and 18 MHz. It was possible to make 33 QSO. Thank you all very much!

SOTA

Beautiful sunny day! The temperature on the mountain is plus 19 degrees! Partly cloudy!
And again, my wife Lyudmila and I are going up the mountain! Activate

The terrain and the climb up the mountain are difficult, the taiga has a lot of trees and thickets! There are reindeer walking nearby!
Lyudmila helps me as always with photography and coffee!
Mosquitoes and midges are a bit of a nuisance! But this is not a hindrance!
We managed to carry out 26 QSO ! Someone really interfered with work at a frequency of 14.313 MHz! Constantly spoke into the microphone of the CQ CQ CQ CQ......
Without giving my call sign, I still managed to do a great job!

SOTA

My first activation under the SOTA program.
Summit:OH/KI-075 (Ritavaara).
The weather was cool, the temperature was plus 4 degrees on the mountain, there was a breeze and loads of snow! But I was an optimist! My wife Lyudmila helped me take photos and poured me hot coffee! We managed to carry out 34 QSO! Thank you all very much!

New repair

FT-857D

My old transceiver, which is 20 years old, is sick. The reason for this is age, operation in an SUV, on the street in summer and winter!

PROBLEM:
1.The shorter the band, the less power transmitted.
And at a band of 160 meters it completely disappeared.
2.When receiving on bands, if (IPO) or (ATT) is not turned on, there is no reception. That is, if you do not enable one of these functions, there is no reception, only silence.
